Education is the birth right of all and its aim is the natural, progressive and harmonious development of the powers and capabilities of the human beings.
Education does not mean mere book learning It consists of right thinking and right living of the individual both for his own good and for the good of the society at large.
In this dynamic, competitive world where there is rapid socio-economic transformation education should be made compulsory for all. In addition to the spread of formal regular education most of the countries in the world have introduced distance education programmes for all sections of the population.
In this context, I hope the universities in India should provide quality education through improved syllabi, teaching & efficient administration for eliminating discrimination between the regular and distance learning.
